The Story Behind The Story

How Friday Nights Became International Bestsellers

For Children Reading This:

Gabriel and his mum Kate couldn't see each other every day like most families. For a really long time, they could only talk one hour a week on FaceTime.

That's when they started creating stories together.

Gabriel would tell adventures. Kate would scribe them. Every Friday night, 7pm.

It was hard. But something magical happened: Those Friday night stories became The Adventures of Gabriel. Books that children all over the world now read.

The lesson? Even when things are really, really hard, your imagination makes you powerful. Your stories matter. Your voice matters.

That's why Gabriel created Coral Cove, Platy, Captain Ali, and all the adventures. To show that being brave means speaking up, even when it's difficult.

For Parents:

What most people don't see in these books: They were created during a 24+ month court-ordered separation.

Gabriel and Kate had one hour weekly on FaceTime. That's all.

When you read these books, you're reading proof that a child's voice matters, even under the hardest circumstances imaginable.

This context matters. Because your child needs to know: Their voice is powerful. Even when, especially when, things are hard.

Meet the Authors

Gabriel, Age 12

The Boy Who Proved Voices Matter

Gabriel created The Adventures of Gabriel when things were really hard.

For over two years, Gabriel and his mum could only talk one hour a week on FaceTime. Most people thought that was impossible for writing books.

Gabriel proved them wrong.

Every Friday night, 7pm, Gabriel and his mum, Kate, would tell stories. His mum would scribe. Together they created Coral Cove, Platy the sidekick platypus, Captain Ali, and adventures that now inspire children worldwide.

What Gabriel loves: Swimming, skateboarding, martial arts, creating board games, and proving that if you refuse to give up stories will give you hope.

About Kate

Gabriel's Mum & Co-Author

Kate is a former award-winning physiotherapist (20 years) turned education innovator and international speaker.

The turning point: When a court order separated Kate from Gabriel for 24+ months, most parents would have focused on surviving. Kate asked Gabriel one question instead:

"Would you like to be the hero of your own story?"

Friday nights, 7pm, one hour on FaceTime became The Adventures of Gabriel, #1 Amazon bestseller and proof that children's voices matter even under the hardest circumstances.

What Kate discovered: The same principles that helped patients heal for 20 years (listen without judgment, respect their knowledge, remove barriers instead of adding interventions) unlock children's voices too.

Today: Kate speaks at international conferences, has presented evidence to UK Parliament, her work is considered by UNICEF for internatioanl distribution, and the British Psychological Society accepted her presentation.

StoryQuest™ (the methodology from Gabriel's books) now serves children across schools with 100% engagement.

But Kate's proudest achievement?

Co-authoring books with her son that prove to children everywhere: Your voice matters. Even when, especially when, things are hard.
